The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity was founded by Meyer Bosky and Charles Tonsor at the City College of New York, NY. Going against the grain of society, our founding fathers hoped to create an organization that was blind to race and creed. So, on December 10, 1899 by way of secret meeting, the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity was founded as the first Greek letter organization to initiate members from all socio-economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
Delta Sigma Phi also became one of the first fraternities to develop a membership manual (known as the Gordian Knot) to be delivered and taught on a national scale to all chapters to enhance new chapter development. |
The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, also known as Delta Sig or DSP, currently has 104 collegiate chapters spread throughout the United States and we are continuing to grow and develop each year with the goal of becoming America’s Leading Fraternity. Over 115,000 men have initiated into Delta Sigma Phi since its founding in 1899 and there are currently over 6,000 undergraduate members and more than 85,000 alumni members living today.
Whether you are an incoming freshman student, transfer student, current UO student, parent, or friend we encourage you to visit us in person and online by exploring our website. We are actively seeking young college men to join our organization with the hopes of becoming a better man.
